POSITION SUMMARY & KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
This is a fantastic opportunity to work within the Hardware Engineering Team based in Dundee. This is a multi discipline team developing and supporting complex mechatronic devices used in banking machines (ATMs) that are deployed worldwide.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Electronic Engineer who will work on electronics development and support projects that deliver new devices and improvements for our 24/7 high availability solutions. The role will specialise using the latest technology and data driven continuous improvement principles.
Main responsibilities shall include, but will not be restricted to:
Design of innovative Microprocessor-based control systems
VHDL FPGA firmware development
Support the efficient production, test, qualification and integration of new designs
Timely delivery of electronics solutions meeting project requirements
Cradle to Grave Ownership - from defining requirements to product introduction
Provide support on product design issues and product improvement (including engineering design, documentation and configuration control)
Produce high quality design documentation
Mentor Graduate/Junior members of the team
The successful candidate will be a highly focussed, self-motivated individual able to demonstrate good analytical and problem solving skills, be able to work with low levels of supervision, understand the importance of attention to detail and have excellent written and spoken communications skills.
The following skills and experience will be required:
Microprocessor & Microcontroller based design
FPGA development with VHDL/Verilog and simulation tools
Analogue & Mixed Signal design
Stepper and DC motor control
Switching Power Supply Design
Modelling & Simulation Tools
Knowledge and appreciation of multilayer PCB design
EMC compliance techniques
Good understanding of test methods
Strong knowledge of electronics assembly processes and test methodologies.
An ability to manage time effectively and work within tight deadlines.
Knowledge of C/C++, Matlab, National Instruments tools would be an advantage
Minimum 2.1 or higher (or equivalent) in one of the following engineering disciplines: Electronics, Physics or related subject
7 years' experience in an electronics design environment

Other Pay Info: £41k - £62k per year 10% bonus and Benefits
