Motor Control Software Engineer

As the Motor Control Software Engineer you will be a member of the product engineering team developing the electrically driven AC compressor mechatronic product for future hybrid or fully electrified powertrains. You will use your outstanding project management skills to drive the development of the electric motor software development and will provide controls and diagnostic functionality on a system level. Your interpersonal skills will be required to work with other engineers, departments, and suppliers to coordinate and collaboratively develop firmware, algorithms for diagnostics and fault treatment routines, and usage profiles. Your superior analytical and reasoning skills will help you establish validation plans, coordinate test programs, analyse test data and organise results relative to specifications, and initiate and lead software changes.


BSEE (Electrical Engineering) or BSCE (Computer Engineering) degree

7+ years experience in mechatronic systems software development

Experience in BLDS motor/motor drive controls, position/velocity feedback devices, and algorithms for sensorless operation

Experience with 16 and 32-bit microcontrollers

Familiarity with software standards ISO26262 and MISRA

Experience with C, C++, assembly language

Fluent in English, working-level second language skills an asset

Must be able to work overtime

some domestic and/or international travel may be required

Automotive/Residential/Commercial HVAC development preferred
